Welcome to Christ Church during the lockdown

Our Church building is now OPEN for private prayer. We will be open on Wednesdays from 9am - 9pm. Please access the church prayer space through the old door (on the side of the building nearest the car park). The door will be open. The rest of the church space is not in use.

Even though our church building is currently closed for worship services and groups due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are still the church of God and we can still meet...... online. During this period, we have found other ways to stay connected, to keep supporting and encouraging each other in our Christian faith as well as our daily tasks. We would love you to join with us in these activities - please see the details below.
Our regular services are online each week on our Christ Church YouTube channel:
- we have one Sunday service which is available online each Sunday at 10am
- the Kids Church service is available each Sunday too
Compline is a short service of night prayer which you can use each evening
CC Youth is our group for teenagers. They will be meeting via Zoom at each Friday evening and on Sunday mornings. If you want to find out more about this, please contact our Youth & Families Pastor, Ash Chafe on ash@ccstalbans.org.uk
Our monthly Messy Church meetings are a valued part of our church and we are sending out packs of a Bible story and crafts to many of the regular Messy Church families each month, to complete at home. If you would like one of these, please contact Becki Chafe on becki@ccstalbans.org.uk to find out more.

Every Sunday at 7pm we are also encouraging our congregation to join with Christians around the country lighting a candle in their windows to represent the light of Jesus that cannot be extinguished.

Caring for each other
We are still finding ways to be a church community safely in this time.

Small groups and prayer triplets - many of these groups are still meeting via video conferences, or keeping in touch via telephone.

Foodbank donations - The Trussell Trust Foodbank is still open in the church each Tuesday 1-3pm. If you know of people that need it, they will need a Referral Voucher - please direct them to Becki, Ash or Jeremy or they can get vouchers from a range of other centres.

If you are able to make a donation of food, please click here to see the long life items the Trussell Trust most need at the momentAs the church building has to be closed during the pandemic, we unfortunately cannot take donations as we usually do. The Trussell Trust website shows the other locations where donations can be left - please check here [link to https://stalbansdistrict.foodbank.org.uk/give-help/donate-food/ ]

Keeping the Church running
Although our Church Office is closed at the moment we are responding to emails and phonecalls intermittently. If you would like further details about our church please contact us on enquiries@ccstalbans.org.uk

Our Vicar, Jeremy, and the Church Wardens are overseeing the church premises and the congregation during this time. If you have any questions for Jeremy, the Wardens or the PCC please do contact Jeremy by email or phone to discuss them.
